Projects & Public Scholarship

Terra Sage’s projects bring together scholarly research, digital ethnography, public-facing writing, conference papers and recorded presentations, interviews, collaborative reference work, and conversations across academic and online media. Ranging from professional wrestling and digital performance to Christian homesteading, conversion testimony, ascension spirituality, and new religious movements, this work examines how contemporary religious worlds are created, circulated, contested, and made persuasive.

The projects collected here take several forms. Some develop arguments first presented in academic papers or conference talks; others grow from ongoing observation of digital communities, influencers, political events, and religious media. The page also includes recorded lectures, YouTube interviews and conversations, collaborative projects such as Terra Sage’s forthcoming World Religions and Spirituality Project entry on Love Has Won and 5D Full Disclosure, and works in progress that may eventually become articles, dissertation chapters, or longer public scholarship.

Across these different formats, Terra Sage is interested in the movement between academic research and the public cultures it studies. Each project page brings together its central questions, current case studies, related media, and available recordings or publications, while also documenting how the work continues to develop.
